Our classes are based on the Suzuki Philosophy.

Dr Shinichi Suzuki, a Japanese violinist and teacher, developed this philosophy after over 50 years of studying the way that children learn.

He observed that all children have a natural and amazing ability to learn their mother tongue.

This lead him to believe that all children have incredible developmental potential, and that these abilities could be developed using the same principles of education which work so successfully as a child learns their mother tongue.

His purpose in musical training was not simply to produce great artists, but to nurture children in a learning environment that enabled them to reach thier full potential and in so doing, develop self esteem, confidence, joy, sensitivity, appreciation of beauty, self discipline, and ultimately to become a fine human being.

Today, the benefits of exposure to music in early childhood are well recognised.

“Talent is no accident of birth … the potential of every child is unlimited.”  Dr Shinichi Suzuki
